Meet the Founder of The Light Paper: Darren Nesbit

Joining us live from the United Kingdom on Monday, June 26, 2023 at General Assembly Meeting #93, Darren Nesbit spoke with former BBC presenter & WCH host Jemma Cooper about The Light Paper, an independent newspaper he founded in September 2020.

Who is Darren Nesbit? What is The Light Paper?

• The Light Paper was launched in the United Kingdom by Darren Nesbit in September 2020, evolving out of the leaflets and flyers handed out at London freedom rallies. The independent newspaper has a print run of 100,000 a month.

• In June 2023, the BBC’s disinformation unit did a report on The Light Paper. They accused the newspaper of sharing “hateful and violent rhetoric” and claimed it has links to the “far right.”

• Darren strongly denies these claims and says The Light Paper simply provides information, opinion and debate that global mainstream media—and especially the BBC—work furiously to suppress.
